art/history: no more heroes anymore. yeah, i'm co-opting the stranglers for this legend. he is the last of a dying breed: fearless, experimental, revered. he has recorded music that runs the gamut from garage rock to french chanson (100 extra life points for that move - &, yes, i can reward them because this is my system) & he's made music with many grand ghosts: bowie & reed, two of the most majestic. he's always made his own rules...even if it meant some dodgy decisions that led to appearing in some dubious adverts for car insurance. it's cool. he's also spoken out against the canadian seal hunt. anyway, the music: 'lust for life', 'the passenger', 'i wanna be your dog', 'nightclubbing', 'china girl'...quelque chose pour tout le monde. i'm dedicating my next green smoothie to the enduring abs & talent of iggy pop, born #otd in 1947.
