poly styrene's earth day

#art/#history: 'i wrenched the nylon curtains back as far as they would go
then peered through perspex window panes at the acrylic road & watched
the world turn day-glo, you know, you know, you know...uh-oh'
these words were written 40 years ago by a 20-year-old opera-student-turned-punk poly styrene. she'd already had it uptohere with humans & their flagrant disregard for our home planet. fair enough, we're destroying ourselves. the real problem is that we're taking so many other species out with us. happy #earthday, everybody. sort yourselves out.
