#art/#history: it's #noirvember, so i'm doing something a bit different this month. in celebration of film noir, all of my drawings will have something to do with characters & actors who wrote, directed or starred in noirish cinema from france (mostly), britain & the states. born #otd in 1917, madeleine robinson starred in 1949's 'une si jolie petite plage'. although she looks here like someone who'd steer you wrong, perhaps, she didn't play the femme fatale. instead, she tried to understand the troubled antagonist & help him avoid ruination. if you're quick, you can see this visually stunning heartbreaker on youtube. the score, by maurice thiriet, doesn't give any second chances. it'll have you gripped from the start.
